I think Dawkins is an egotist and puffed up on what he considers to be "the answer" to human existance. He is not the first or last of his kind. He just believes that because he lives in the 21st century that he has discovered things the ancients knew nothing about. How does he know that?!! Just because he can find no evidence that this so-called knowledge he has, existed prior to or since the flood?!! Every race on this planet can trace its origins back to a great flood that covered the whole earth or speaks of a great flood like that in their recorded history. Science itself has proved that there is evidence from the highest range in the world, that it was once under water. He claims that the Bible speaks nothing of dinasaurs...incorrect also. He claims that he knows the exact age of the planet due to carbon testing, which has been proven by other scientists to be "inconclusive and sometimes doctored". But even if accurate, Genesis does not say the planet didn't exist before God started the creation of earth for man's use. It says that he created it, at the same time he created the heavens...plural...and He did not create it to be void and empty. It does not say at this juncture how long it had been this way. Only that is was (hebrew translation of the word "was" can also mean "became") void and empty. It does not say when God hovered over this chaotic(void) mass, and brought about order, just that at that particular point in time it had become (or was) void. And Dawkins would have you believe that he is not practicing any religion...wrong. It's just one of his own making. He is worshipping the God of Science. He lives up to the teachings of Paul to the Corinthian church. (who by the way, were steeped in Helenistic teachings. Great philisophers and men of higher knowledge gathered in cities all around this area to expound on their theories, trying to make a name for themselves) A christian infancy of people who were being confused and mis-led by the so-called wise men of their day. Anyway, Paul quoted from a prophet named Isaiah, who existed 6 centuries before Christ, that said God says: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." Paul also, said that "Jews look for miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preached Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles (Dawkins), but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. He spoke later about the wisdom in the message for the mature, not a wisdom of this age (the age between Christ's resurrection and his return) or of the rulers of this age, but a secret wisdom....a wisdom only revealed to those of us who have received God's spirit. He also, said the man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he CANNOT understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. Dawkins is close minded and has made his choice..he is anti-christ and stumbles along in a darkness of his own choosing, constantly trying to prove his own theories. (frustrated intelligence) He says he believes that religion is the root of all evil, but fails to see that he is condemning his own religion to the same category. He is just a follower of the true ruler of this planet, the prince of darkness, and the father of lies who deceived humanity into believing "eating from the tree of knowledge..." would make them God-like. He has deceived him into believing that no God or creator exists. In this way, Dawkins, doesn't have to acknowledge a higher intelligence than his own and he feels that if he can convince the simple minded to agree with his philosopy, he in someway becomes god-like in his wisdom. Man, that trick has been around since the beginning. You would have thought that we would have quit falling for it by now. Therefore, he has no one or nothing to answer to but himself. Like I said earlier, arrogant and egotistical, but, unfortunately, self deluded. He and you, also, may say the same of me. I don't claim to know it all, though, just what God reveals to me. He is the source of all wisdom and knowledge. It's all just a matter of choice, you see. People see Christianity as some set of rules and regulations, do's and dont's, and some infants and uninformed in the faith actually try to live this way and to enforce it on others. True faith has nothing to do with religion or this line of thinking. Once mankind tried to become God-like through "knowledge" exploring all types of good and evil, he also, seperated himself from the True God and brought about death and chaos. God, out of infinite Love for His creation, had to provide the tree of Life (Jesus) to restore us and the planet back to immortality and a right relationship with Himself. But, we still all have a choice to make between the two. The Tree of Life has been hidden from those who refuse to believe. Scripture says, that Christ came into the world (was revealed to mankind), and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own (people) did not receive him. Yet to ALL who recieved him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. He still calls us to believe! But you will remain unconvinced of any of this unless you open your mind and heart to the possibility that God is real, God's Spirit is real, his Son is real and is who he claimed to be. That he died to reconcile us all to the Father, a perfect and willing sacrifice to attone for the sin's of all men from the beginning to the end. If I'm wrong what have I lost? I lived, I died, I'm forgotten. If I'm right, I will live forever in His presence with the answers to the universe at my disposal. The world will see the son of Man (Jesus) and His bride (the True church - all believers) coming in glory at His return and the world will fall at His feet and understand that they were foolish, deceived and are now forever seperated from all light, goodness, love and perfection. If Dawkin or Darwin or any who follow that belief are wrong, they suffer the wrath of a God who is insulted by their lack of belief and mockery of His Son's sacrifice and stand judged and condemned by their own choosing. Even if their right, what still have they gained upon their death? They lived, they died, they're forgotten. Just like all the other worldy-wise men before them. That sounds like a lose/lose situation, to me. It's that simple. Choices. What will you choose to believe in? Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; Seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. 8-For everyone who asks recieves; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. Rev. 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me. Is your mind and heart, closed or open? If you don't hear His knock, get His attention by asking, seeking and knocking, yourself. What have you got to lose?
