Equal pricing, but I need one for my room, just for school stuff. Which one would be better in your opinion?

Rather than deciding on one of these two laptop you might do a little more research.

The first thing to do is to determine what your needs are: What do you want to use the laptop for? word processing, e-mail, browsing web pages, moving it around (size and battery life will matter), gaming (a very fast CPU, graphics chip and lots of RAM), on-line shopping, a database application (fast CPU, big hard drive), personal finance, photos (big hard drive), music (big Hard Drive).

Once you have figured out what you need decide how much you can afford to spend. Then check out IBM (Lenovo), Dell and Toshiba or HP. IBM and Toshiba make the best laptops and Dell spends the most on advertising, so has the best name, but perhaps the worst customer service reputation.

So, the question of new vs. used … depends upon your budget, battery needs and how much you will be using the unit. If you only have $300 to spend the only choice is refurbished. If you want a brand new battery then you will rarely find them in used laptops. As a matter of fact the battery might not even work. If you use the laptop a lot then seriously consider upping the budget and get new, as over 2-3 years the cost will be less.

So, once you have shopped around and narrowed it down to two choices then search google for "used laptops" refurbished and "cheap laptops" new and see who has the best deal. But remember the best price may not much matter if they have poor customers service, should you have a problem.

If these are your only choice, go with the Acer. Both have Celeron processors which are dog slow. You don't need much for just school, but the Acer has more memory so that will help on speed and such. Good luck.

This website has good deals also...

you can go for the Acer, it's not that slow like others say. with the Celeron M 380 it's nearly as fast as an old Pentium M because the L2 cache is 1mb. a further advantage is it comes with 512MB of Ram while the 2 others come only with 256mb.
for school stuff it will do the job very well.

in my opinion i would go to http://www.ubid.com
for that same price you can find so much more for your money
the only thing you need to look at is the details of the items your looking at they sell alot of refurbished items
theres nothing wrong with that but if you want new make sure youre looking at a new item
i think there is a way you can search new items only
ive gotten alot from this site and never had any problems

Neither. They are both crap. I work in I.T. Spend a bit more and get a HP or Dell.
