Different ways. Sometimes it's natural: lightning, or decaying vegetable matter spontaneously combusts. Too often, it's a careless smoker, or a campfire which gets out of control, sometimes arson, or similar. You may be really want to know about the conditions which give rise to it. Drought is usually a factor. Because of laws which don't allow some clearing of underbrush, when it dries out it takes very little to set a fire off.

Mainliy heat and arson about 2or 3 percent is caused by lightning
