the XPS line is dell's top of the line stuff, and people I know that have one say they run really well. I have a dell 9100 for just over a year and it is still running smoothly.

I recently bought an XPS notebook, and am very pleased with it. Good performance, and the factory built it to my specs very quickly. Ordered it online on a Thursday, it was delivered the following TUESDAY, believe it or not!

My mom has a Dell laptop for work and it is regularly slow and sometimes functions weirdly. But otherwise it is a nice computer.

Bought an XPS with TrueLife...Don't bother...the screen is like looking into a mirror, it's very annoying. Get a regular screen.

in the world of laptops there is just two kinds: Panasonic Toughbook and everyone else. check out the commercial link too on their site as well as consumer. dell is junk though they generally will work with most distributions of linux. but the bodies of flimsy. i ahve worked on them and they are crap.
