what are you willing to do or are doing that lets rest of the world that you care about it and are not so self-centered?

No I am talking about what helps the rest of the world, like giving money to compassion intenational, something that is not required of you legally like paying taxes.

americans, generally speaking, are self-centered. they care about their own country, and european countries, and nobody else. not all americans are this self-centered. for example, whenever possible, i try to help when tragedies occur in other countries. i spent a summer in africa helping out at an orphanage. one spring break, some kids from my school went down to guatemala to help build a shelter. i try to help the rest of the world whenever possible, but sadly, too many americans don't. and since so many americans don't care about other countries, that's the reputation we have as a country.

Americans, self-centered? Come on! OK, OK, maybe just a little. I think our foreign policy leaves a lot to be desired.
Our response to the Tsunami disaster was admirable.
Would would I do? Vote democrat and end the war in Iraq.

I do not have the resources to travel outside the US often.
When I meet someone from another country who has come to the US for work, I like to know about their country and how they percieve it. I want to undersatnd the culture if I can.
I also let them I ask me questions about America so we can have an exchange.
