are you using linux or windows?
if windows xp go to the control panel and double click sysytem icon. then go to hardware tab then go to device manager. there you will see a tree of devices. the bottom is icons representing the usb hardware stuff. if there is a big yellow question mark you get problems. usually internally there is a serperate board with the usb chipset that is removable.alas i am not familiar with your notebook. that board usually just pulls off a set of pins. so if there is not ? then you either have a chipset problem or you just have lost the drivers. try reloading the drivers by clicking on the proerties for the device in question. there you can reload the driver.

The cooling pad only makes use of the USB port to get skill so as that only proves that the skill connection is sweet. take a inspect gadget manager in equipment homes in should be that the USB-PCI bridge motive force is corrupt or missig.

I have had the same problem. One of my USB ports just will not work. No error is shown in the Device Manager so I have no idea. Hopefully someone will answer and help us both out.

try remove the USB controllers under Windows system hardware (Control panel/USB) and restart the computer again, if the ports are working, Windows will auto find teh USB ports and install them again, looking at the notebook model, its assumed that its on XP so no extra software are required.
