This answer helps you if you want to buy it online.
try NewEgg first, it has very advanced search which would help you to find and search your laptop you really want. Then either get it there or in ZipZoomFly. These two website are among the best online shops that I know. Great service, delivery and products. Never had problem with them. I doubt if you can find it any cheaper somewhere else. You might though for $30 cheaper but check the website. Is it a reliable online shopping website!!?? I know these two base on personal experience.
Brand wise, my Advice is: Toshiba, Acer, HP,Sony even though Sony you might pay a bit more for the brand but nice look. I have Acer TravelMate8104WLMi which I love it and works perfect.
Don't get anything with less than 512MB RAM, cuz it would be useless to you after a year. I recommend 1024MB (1GB) RAM.
And don't worry about other things such as wireless and ... Because the laptop which has 1GB RAM would defiantly have a good CPU, Screen and hard drive. So enjoy and Have fun.
I used the brands that I mentioned above and that does not mean any other brand would not work, but these are the companies that have been working in laptop industry longer than the others I suppose. Just I don't like DELL have to say

Your local computer store is probably the best place. Get an HP or a Compaq, and you will probably never be disappointed. When in doubt, just go with them!
If you're referring to a Mac, then you better know some people. Buying a Mac at the store is expensive. Buy a Mac cheap from someone you don't know, and your computer will probably come with problems. If you can get a used Mac from someone you trust and you know took good care of it, that's your best bet.
Don't get one off eBay.

It really depends on what you want out of a laptop. If it's just going to be surfing the net, microsoft word, etc. Just get a low cost laptop. The best deals are usually always on ebay, but sometimes best buy/circut city/staples run really good deals that are unbeatable. If you want more out of a laptop I would go to a best buy and see what fits you best, then look online for a good deal.

That way if the device fails on you and is going decrease back to the corporate you do not lose the tips. Dell and any computer company WILL erase the complicated force so keep backups. be careful employing pen drives its common to snap them off contained in the USB ports on a computer meaning you lose the information on them. best of success studying C++ be at liberty to message me on right here in case you want a assisting hand. added: "a million Gb RAM or one hundred Gb complicated" you received't get that on a computer a minimum of no longer surely and really no longer cost effectively. i'm operating on a million/2 gb (512 mb) of ram and a 40 gb complicated force on a computer. I have an HP Pavilion - zd series. I love it BUT here's a WARNING:
Do NOT purchases OEM software. Make sure you ask the laptop vendor for non-OEM versions of Microsoft Office and/or the operating systems.
If you LOSE YOUR DISKS, Microsoft only charges you $30 to replace them. If you have OEM(Vendor enhanced versions of the software/system) software, you're at the mercy of the person that sold you the computer. Microsoft cannot help you!
