The marriage would not be recognized in other states that do not allow it. CDuring Clinton's administration a bill was passed that allowed for states to have the right to not ackowledge same sex marriages from other states that did allow it.

The DOMA, federal Defense Of Marrage Act signed by Clinton says that no state has to recognize any other state's (same sex) marriage, and that the federal government shall not recognize it. Hence, it varies from state to state. New York is on record as recognizing out of state (and out of country) marriages. BUT, that doesn't mean that if you need to see your partner int he hospital, that the hospital won't give you all kinds of friction: you can probably sue them afterwards and all that, but the implementation of recognizing the marriages isn't really guaranteed so far.

Only recognized in other states. But works in the eyes of the lord. As does anytype of union among the two since the law of the land is working against us, at this time.

No the marriages are not recognized in most states outside of Massachusetts ... until that law gets fixed too.

I have not seen or heard anything about this important issue. Just realizing how other states have been reacting and the surge of the CHRISTIAN RIGHT, I dont think so.
