well i think its because as people grow older they mature. for example if you are a little kid and someone just tells you that there is a god the first thing that comes to mind is who's that. but for many people have to go throgh alot in their lives so that they can get to know him. its sort of like their life testimony. i do believe in god and just a year ago i didnt i was stuck in drugs and all of that crap. but then it suddenly hit me.

I don't think it is age necessarily, I think it has more to do with how you are raised as far as if you become religious or not once you get older. As far as someone like Madonna goes, she happens to be involved in a religion of total acceptance which naturally would suit her considering her past. However, she changes with the wind so she may not stick with what she is into now. People in general, Madonna included, seem to find religion after they have children and see that if you do not have some kind of belief in a higher power you become a lost soul.

Hard to say... Maybe because as they grow older they start to realize that death is right around the corner... So they get religious and everything because they want to be forgiven of there sins so they can die a peaceful death and then got to heaven.
