Hello,

People,

Most of the songs I put up on POETRY.COM have disappeared without a trace, I have them all copyrighted and my lawyer has copies of each of the songs, I'm unsure where they have went all I got was a notification thanking me for uploading songs and telling me they would be put in the POETRY.COM anthology and hardbook

What can I do, have they really been stolen? who can I contact?

Thanks!!
Most angry, and worried at the same time!!

So long as you can verify that the songs are yours you can sue POETRY.COM for illegal use of copyrighted material.HOWEVER If there is something in the application for POETRY.COM about them using your stuff for sale and you agreed then I don't think there is anything you can do about it.

Hope this helped.

In the future, you should publish your work. Also, try putting copies in a sealed envelope and mail it to yourself. If there's ever an issue in court, the postal date stamp is proof that it was yours first.

You have a lawyer, he should be your first call. He didn't work for that law degree for the fun of it!
