Dior has amazing concealer, and Loreal's true match foundation and powder are good too. Concealer goes on first to hide the pimples, then the foundation (make sure you get a moisturizing one), then the powder, which is meant to make it look more natural.

Foundation is applied to the entire face to provide an even surface. Powder sets foundation and absorbs some oil to cut shine. Concealer is a "spot treatment" for blemishes or undereye circles.

I like L'Oreal True Match foundation, very good coverage without looking cakey. I use Neutrogena powder. I haven't yet found a concealer good enough that I can say, "oh, I think this is great!" The foundation in the cap of the bottle usually works great as a spot concealer, it's drier and thicker, I just pat it on & set with powder.

You can clear you acne by cleaning your face twice a day, using a good cleanser and then applying acne treatment gel. but if you just want to cover it I would suggest using a concealer first then applying a foundation. Mary Kay has a very concentrated concealer and good line of foundations for oily skin.

More important than foundation and concealer - cleanse your skin properly to keep it clean using a product for your skin type. Use a toner with salicylic acid. Always moisturize with an oil free moisturizer to avoid the skin making excess oil. Give your skin a chance to clear up before using makeup. All the best. I have been there too.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

I have acne too! Heres a secret that most dont know about. Powder first than foundation. I personally prefer liquid foundation. When you put the foundation on use a brush to blend it in. Trust me you'll look even more beautiful than you are now!

The brand doesn't really matter.
Make sure that whatever you choose is:
*dermatologist tested
*hypoallergenic
*wont clog your pores
*irritant free
*lacking in oil

the label should have those things on it.
proper application is a must too!

1. 20 min after washing feel for dry spots and apply moisturizer there.
(If you are using a treatment like Noxema, Oxy, Clearasil.. etc. Apply now.)
2. put a reasonable dab of foundation on your forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose. Blend.
3. lightly put concealer on the area tapping it on, not smugging it on!
4. using a loose power and a brush, apply power to your face.

Maybelline Pure is made for acne prone skin.
You need to look for water base matte finish make up.

Ideally, you shouldn't wear any make up, just wash, treat your face and then apply a sunscreen to help your skin clear up faster. But, if you must, I suggest the Maybellin Pure.

Always, before you apply make up, cleanse, tone and moisterize your face. Use a moisterizer with and SPF because UV rays can slow down the healing process of the red marks left after acne. If you can get a primer, I suggest using some of that. Smashbox, Lise Watier and Elizabeth Arden make great ones that are filled with vitamins and mattifying ingredients that will nourish your skin all day, even out skin tones, and help prevent make up from seeping into your pores.

If you're young you probably don't need a foundation. I would go with a concealer pencil, a concealer brush to blend the edges of your cover up seamlessly to your skin, and then set with a fine dusting of powder applied with a brush.

Foundation = all over coverage. Evens skin tone.
Powder = Sets Foundation and Concealer for all day wear
Concealer = spot treatments like covering acne.

If you have a lot of uneven tones to your skin apply a light coverage of foundation, follow with spot treatment with concealer and set with a light dusting of powder.

If you use foundation you will need to bring your eyes out and use some blush. I really don't recommend it for the novice make up user, at all. You can end up looking like a cake face and that's worse than acne. In fact, you could easily cause it to get worse!

Clinique, Maybellin, Cover Girl and Almay all have lines for acne prone skin. Just ask the cosmetic counter.

Finally, always always always wash your face before bed. If you're lazy, get the make up removal clothes.

Remember it takes 3 weeks for acne to form BEFORE it shows up to you. So sleeping one night in make up could mean a big break out weeks later!
