Never heard of glue eaters but people I used to know sniffed it for the high.

because glue ish yummy and it makes your mouth all sticky!
Just playin, it's the same reason many kids suck their thumbs. 1) as a security, and 2) the texture of the glue probably felt interesting in the child's mouth. So they continued to eat it.

Because it will stick to their stomach and they'll never go hungry. Or they're goat people, goats eat glue off of cans that have paper on them. Either way it's gross and weird.
