poetry.com..... yup. I fell for that too. Almost. I got a letter saying that they were going to put my stuff in their new anthology "Immortal Verses". So, me being the natural skeptic of internet things that I am, researched it. Apparently they only publish the poems that people paid to put in the books and the lay out is terrible. And the books are only distributed to the people who ordered them - not to any major book stores or anything. Search "Poetry.com scam" on google and you will be able to verify all that I said here. Sadly, the state they operate in allows such behaviour. Gah. Angry? Frustrated? Sad? Me too, pal, me too.

First of all, Poetry.com is a scam. They will tell you that anything you submit will be published, then they get you to buy the book. that's how they make their money. It is not a legitimate outlet for quality poetry.
I truly hope that your songs/[poems weren't composed originally in their little submission window, and that you have it saved on computer and a hard copy. If not, I guess that burn you feel is a hard learned lesson.

Hi,
Try emailing them like this webmaster@poetry.com, there is a guideline that states that all domains must be contactable at all times. If illegal activity has taken place they should have a record of the IP address from where your account was activated. They will not be able to give it to you without a court order.

Maybe someone hacked into your account or there is some sort of virus on that website? I don't know, I'm just throwing out suggestions. But that really sucks, sorry. :-|
Run a virus scan and restart your computer or if you saved all of your poetry, make up a different account and transfer it.

Think you've beeh had mate, check back with site and
pursue it but dont be holding your breath, sadly. :-( ...
Just an afterthought but I assume you read the terms
and conditions with regard to intelectual property rights
before posting ?, you may have a claim against them
dependent on those conditions, may be worth checking
as well ...
Good Luck ...

Have you tried to contact them at all? They must have an email address, or maybe a phone number that you can call? I hope that you get this sorted!
