Back in the 70's we use to chant this song at football games... to the opponents as they left our field after losing. (It was mean, I know) I only remember the chorus.... which went like this: Na, Na, Na, Na ..... Na, Na, Na, Na ..... Hey, Hey, Hey..... Goodbye. Does anyone know the name of this song, who the artist was and possibly the lyrics? Hopefully I'll be able to download it from iTunes. Any help will be appreciated.... bringing back the memories for me! Thanks!

Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)
By: Steam
(Gary DeCarlo, Dale Frashuer and Paul Leka)
1969

Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
He'll never love you, the way that I love you
'Cause if he did, no no, he wouldn't make you cry
He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love)
So dog-gone willin'
So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him, wanna see you kiss him)
Go on and kiss him goodbye

Na na na na, hey hey-hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Listen to me now
He's never near you to comfort and cheer you
When all those sad tears are fallin' baby from your eyes
He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love)
So dog-gone willin'
So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him. I wanna see you kiss him)
Go on and kiss him goodbye

Na-na na-na-na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Hey hey-hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye [repeat many times and fade out]

Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" was the number one pop single on the Billboard Hot 100 in late 1969. The song was written and recorded by Gary DeCarlo, Dale Frashuer, and Paul Leka and released, attributed to a then fictitious band "Steam," on the Mercury subsidiary label, Fontana. Although subsequently released recordings and a quickly assembled touring band Steam (band) met with little success, the song "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" remains a perennial favorite.

It's called "Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)" by Steam.

Bananarama also sings a version of it. :)
