because they don't form their own groups, compose their own music, write their own lyrics or choreograph their own dance moves.

haha, I was thinking about this a while back when I made a list of my favorite singers and realized that there were only like 1 or 2 guys compared to dozens of girls.
This is a good question and I'm still trying to think of an answer.

All they do is sing, do some choreographed dancing and look pretty. Real bands play instruments
