I was asked if I could work until 7 instead of 5 if they needed me and like a dummy I said yes. They haven't said for sure if they need me to stay yet, but I really don't want to. What should I do? It wouldn't be that bad. I work at a telephone company in the drive thru and on tue and thur it stays open til 7 and usually they have someone take over at 5. But I just want to go home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get a can of beans like red kidney beans. Put some in your mouth and pretend to be gagging, throwing up and spit them out all over the sink in the bathroom. Tell your boss you just got sick and don't feel well.
Make sure to get the red/brown juice from the bean can to add a realistic coloring to your pretend sickness.

Well you could make up a lie like you have another job that starts at 5:30 or something.
You could also make up something like it's your sister's graduation or something, but that wouldn't get you out of trouble if they ask you some other day, so with the job thing you can sneak out all the time :)
On the other hand, if it's not that bad, you can stay. It will do good, they would feel like they owe you something and eventually it could get you a raise or something.

Listen at your next job, bring in pictures of some kid(s) - pretend he's yours. You have a built in excuse.
Ok, if you can't be this dishonest then still bring inthe picture and tell them that you have taken in your cousin until his family issues are resolved.
Works like a charm for me!

If you were pregnant, you could fake going into early labor
Otherwise, stick it out, it will look bad on you if you flake, and next time just say you can't!

Did they ask you to stay till 7 during interview. if they asked you later just talk to them that it does not suit you.

pretend like someone called and tell them you're sorry and that you'll take a raincheck cause you have a family emergency and you have to get somewhere right away
