I have a feeling that theese hogs will be pretty good. Any thoughts?

I imagine most Arkansas fans are not very optimistic about the Hog's success this year, because of the last two seasons. But ask other SEC fans and you will get a different story. All the other fans see is 19 returning starters and McFadden returning at running back. The Hogs have taken it on the chin the past couple of years, but when a group of young men come out of a crucible like this group of seniors and juniors have, you will have some molded soldiers come out of it. The last time Arkansas returned this many starters they were a fumble away from Atlanta. Phil Steele, who is one of hte pre-eminent prognosticators of college football has the Pigs finishing in the top 15. They will have a salty defense and a terrific running attack. The only unsettled position is at QB and they have some decent talent there and some experience. They are not the kind of team that will make a living off of the signal caller anyhow, and when Nutt can run the ball and play defense he is going to win some games, and a lot of them. The oddsmakers should give you some indication that Arkansas has improved tremendously by setting the opening line of the USC game at a mere +9.5. This has upset special written all over it. Razorback fans better get ready for a fun year. This Ole Miss fan is not looking forward to the game this year.

First of all they will win 7 or 8 games this year. Haste you have no idea what your talking about that QB Mustain was the number 1 QB out of high school in most publications. They do have weapons at WR you idiot. They signed the number 13 and 21 WR out of high school this year, and they have the best goal line possesion receiver in the SEC (Marcus Monk). Oh did forget to mention that we have arguably the best group of RB's in the country.
I agree about Nutt. I'm not a huge Houston Nutt fan, but he did have a huge recruiting class this year. If we don't go to a bowl game this year I really think he should be let go. I think he's a great motivator but not a great X's and O's coach and thats what we need.
7-5 is my prediction for the year. Last time I checked that qualifies us for a bowl game.

I think the Hogs really showed a lot of maturity at the end of last season. I can't help but think that all the players are in place to give us a hugely successful year if they are coached well. IF. :)
I agree that Nutt is not about the X's and O's...hopefully the changes in his coaching staff will give him a more competitive, unpredictable, edge this season. We tend to win our season openers. It'll be a great start if we can beat USC. Then again, we always START well :)

I played for Arkasas, last year under Danny Ford and then under Houston Nutt. I'd love it if they'd at least get to a bowl game this year but ever since steorner left they really haven't shown any progress.
Whatever happened to Carlos Hall? That kid was HUGE! I always thought he would go NFL but never saw him on any rosters...

im from Arkansas and i think they r a good sleeper but they will half to play good the sec is so hard to win there,they did get some great recruits this year,mustang,McFadden is ranked in the top 5 rb in some peoples ranking

sorry but... i doubt it....... i wont believe intill houston NUTT leaves.. he sucks... shouldnt even be a football coach.... i mean you arkansas fans... take pride in the hogs.. i would if i was in arkansas.. but you guy should be gettin tired of houston.. nutt i mean i would .. actually i am.. i mean he says we are gonna have a good season next year.. and every year.. only gets up to maybe 5 winning games.. i mean come on its getting overating....
i forgot his name.. but that QB from springdale isnt gonna cut.. it, thats my opinion i dont think just a qb. can changed everything...exspecially by his standards.... i mean he needs weapons at the WRs...... and a good TE....
