I'm pretty sure the poster ment "cube".

Well, there is only one way to remove the ring....melting the lucite. the bad news is lucite polymers will not break, so cracking the cube is not an option.

The GOOD news is, lucite has a very low melting point, about 130-140 degrees celcius. If this is a gold ring, there is no problem...gold melts at about 1064.18 °C

More than likely, even if the ring isn't gold, the lucite will have the lower melting point....I would strongly reccomend you not attempt to melt the lucite yourself though, hot dripping lucite can burn you badly, and you might damage the ring without the right equipment needed to monitor temperature. Your best bet is to go to a place where they encase things in lucite or manufacture things with lucite (such as a trophy maker) and have them reheat the cube and retrieve the item at a small fee. It will save you time, mess, and you can be sure it is done right.

Chop it loose with a hatchet or have a friend do it for you. You could also use a high speed angle grinder too. I'd use the grinder outside the house.
