Don't get an iPod. Get a different brand of MP3 player.

iRiver Clix. It holds around 500 songs. (2GB)
Radio, photos, video, FM recording, voice recording, games, it's entertaining and works well, too. It has a cool design. 19 hr battery life. Much better deal than the Nano. ($200)

Or Sandisk Sansa e200. 2/4/6GB. $150/$200/$270.
Does everything the iRiver Clix does except the games part.

I would rate an i pod Nano with a 4* this is because to me, it has a relatively good sound quality. But first, you must ask yourself why you need the iPod Nano for? It is no point rushing into buying an mp3 and after getting it, you feel that it is a waste of money. That was the exact situation that I was in. I rushed into buying an iPod Nano, and after getting it, i felt that i maybe should have bought an iPod Shuffle, and with that extra money, save it to buy something else.

But what I cannot deny is that the iPod Nano is a very good mp3. Although a lot of people say that it would spoil after you drop it, but i don't think that that is the case. I have droppped it a few times, and it still works fine. As for the battery life, it last for quite a long time ( about 10-11 hours).

So, think carefully before buying. As new models of mp3s will always come out after a year or so.

well, unlike everbody else, i would give it a 4. why? because EVERYTHING made by Apple is great! yes, the storage capacity is not the best, however, apple is working on the next generation of iPod nanos that will be able to hold a lot more than they do now. I would recommend that you wait to buy one until those come out. oh, and the sound quality isn't any different than the sound quality of other mp3 players.

I'd give it a 4.5 (if you don't mind). Everything about it is wonderful, the click wheel, the color screen, the small size, and of course iTunes. It is a little expensive, and on top of that you're gonna need about $25 to buy a case, unless you like scratches.

2- not bad for the price, but too little storage space unless you want to be constantly changing what's on it or you'll get bored fast.
