If his Battousai side had fought instead of Kenshin against Shishio & Co at the final set of battles would he have won? By the time Kenshin got to fight Shishio he had been badly wounded by his fights with Aoshi and Sojiro Seta and he was still morally opposed to killing Shishio. This put him at an obvious disadvantage to Shishio.

I'm convinced that if his other side had been in his place that he would have chosen to kill Aoshi and the woman right off the bat. As for Sojiro, the fight wouldn't have been close. While Sojiro Seta was very quick, he was also extremely arrogant. The only reason Kenshin didn't finish him off before was out of pity and morality. Battousai would have annihalated and likely killed the arrogant child right off the bat as well. This would have left him with less injuries and also Shishio would have had no advanced knowledge of the Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki because of Sojiro and Yumi being killed. Yumi also wouldnt have been there during the final fight.

I definitely believe he would have won very quickly as the Battousai. Kenshin's unwillingness to kill is what causes the fights to last so long, because it is easier to kill people as strong as the ones he is fighting than to incapacitate them. But then, would the show have been as good if he had given up his conviction to not kill?

Of course he would have won, but the thing is that he chose not to act as Battousai anymore, and that's what caused all the problems to begin with. If he had acted as Battousai from the moment he knew about Shishio's threat, he would have gone there and beaten his sorry arrsse off, but by doing that he would have betrayed all the things he stood up for.

Of course the Battousai would have finished those fights quickly and without hassle, but then Kenshin could never return to normal and Kaoru wouldnt like him anymore, he might become a mass murderer or be an assassin again.

Sure, he would have won faster, but then he wouldn't have been
Kenshin any longer. He would have given in to the dark side of his soul, and probably would have died there as well.

That's what all the succession techinique training was about-
finding the strength to win and survive without doing things that are against your soul's nature.

Battosai is kick-***, but he's not Kenshin.
I wouldn't watch an anime about Battosai,
I like to see the characters grow and change, and Kenshin has a lot of healing to do, and a great path.

if kenshin is battousai he would've killed shishio and Aoshi witout even a scratch which is a bit boring, but kenshin's promise of not killing any more people is what makes this anime great! its the best!!

Battousai would have finished the fight in two minutes. That's how good he is. I love that episode.

of course, he would have won quickly but that would have been boring too if there wasn't a lot of action.
