Is it hypocritical to put a "Support our Troops" sticker on the back of a Japanese Truck, built in Mexico from Korean Steel that runs on South American and Middle Eastern Oil.

Or is this just me?

If American car companies could put out a better product, maybe americans would buy more of their cars.

Paraphrase:

If American workers will willing to work for next to nothing in substandard conditions they could have jobs too, but obviously the right thing to do is to pay a Mexican to do it for little compensation and zero safety oversight

Most "Support our Troops" stickers are hypocritical anyway, with many of them sported by Bush supporters and other quasi-Americans. The whole "Support our Troops" thing has turned into a rallying cry for Americans who like to attack Americans.

By your obvious assumptions, you think that only the big three carmakers are American made. Can you tell me which ones are completely American? It doesn't offend me in any way. People can only do so much to show support. How do you know what else they do to support the troops other than just a bumper sticker? I rode a BMW m/c for twenty years. I was was accepted by both the hard core Harley riders and the Rice burners. Every time a Harley rider told me "remember Pearl Harbor". I just rephrased it and said what was the difference between Japan and Germany. Never did get a response!

Just about all countries have an army. There is nothing wrong for anyone putting a sticker on a vehicle asking those who read it to support the troops of that nation.
Where the vehicle was built has nothing to do with the message.
When an billboard advertises a product, no one cares where the material for the sign came from.

No, what is an "American" car anyway? Loads of traditionally American cars are built abroad. Likewise, loads of foreign cars are built in the US. Anyway, all of these countries that we receive cars from are friends and fully democratic and helping their economy helps us too. Now when the Chinese cars come, that's a different story. Buying a Communist car is ethically different. They don't share traditional American values of freedom and human rights. Anyway, in a pre Chinese car world, I don't see any ethical problem. If you still have a problem with it, I suggest getting rid of your car and taking the bus or subway, just put the sticker on your rucksack. Anyway, I have a better question though, along similar lines...Is it hyprocritical to put a "Support the Troops" sticker on the back of an SUV or truck (American or otherwise) that guzzles Middle East gas and keeps us dependent on oil from hostile nations?

It's just you. If you really want to support our troops, sign a petition to bring them home from George Bush's illegal and unconstitutional war. Or, better yet, be part of a demonstration that demands the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq. Bush, in cooperation with an evil, corrupt, incompetent U.S. Congress, invaded another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the U.S.A.

Bush attacked Iraq for only TWO reasons: 1) he wanted to 'finish' what his daddy started during Desert Storm and had a personal vendetta against Hussein; 2) LimpDick Cheney wants all of Iraq's OIL so he and his buddies at Halliburton, Bechtol, and Exxon-Mobil can get richer and richer and richer.

Prediction: There will be NO TROOP WITHDRAWALS from Iraq until Cheney has a rock-solid, iron-clad arrangement with the new Iraqi government (which Cheney helped to install) for America to get all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands.

Prediction: As soon as Bush can figure out a plausible lie (his lie about weapons of mass destruction won't work a second time), the U.S.A. will invade Iran for the very same reason: OIL. If we're really interested in bringing democracy to these lands ruled by evil despots, why aren't we invading every other dictatorship in the world? Because the other dictatorships have no OIL!!! So let the genocide, rapes, pillage, and murder continue unabated. Bush is lower than pondscum, as are his two right-hands, Cheney and Rumsfeld.

Support our troops by demonstrating how much you care about them, writing letters to them, and fighting for their safe return to the United States. -RKO-

Most cars, like Toyota and Audi have factories here, so you are supporting auto workers here. However, if you want to focus your anger on a group, why not the UAW?? It's the UNIONS, through their extortionistic tactics ruining American companies.

The REASON factories are going over seas is because they CAN'T AFFORD UNION LABOR.

Look at the Big Dig in Boston. That is what union labor gets done today, along with the help of the Irish Mafia (aka Ted Kennedy and John Kerry)

heres and idea find out where the truck is really made.........Most Toyota trucks are put together right here in USA, bet your ignorant *** didn't know that. The Toyota camry has more American parts on it than a FORD MUSTANG. SO when you purchase a Mustang just know you would be helping out more American workers if you purchased a Camry. You are an ignorant American.

I love your question.

"Support the troops" is the most idiotic propagandist slogan I have ever heard. It's brilliant really. To be able to cover your asss, by saying I don't support the war, but... oh, ah... I support our troops. How can people fall for this Nazi crap. Credit where credit is due... the writers of this stuff should get a prize!
