because her mother was a drug addict and she didn't want her daughters growing up to have a messed up life like hers.so keyshia was put up for adoption and her sister was sent with their grandparents .keyshia and her sister are so tight and when keyshia sister would get raped it was nothing keyshia could do

Because she was on drugs and she couldn't take care of her and basiclly she was taking care og her self any way.
