The people at JPL (which are people that work with space) suspect that if people don't do anything that in at least 50 years people will see a devastating change in our world. Our polar ice caps are melting at such a rapid rate that it has been predicted that in 50 to 80 years Florida and New Orleans will be completely under water, not to mention our air will be much more polluted than it is now. Needless to say we as the next generation need to clean up our environment so that our children of tomorrow can live healthy and peacefully, I do my part how about eveyone else? Not likely at all that we would ever end up like that movie because it was a very far fetched movie!!!

Just consider this one thought..........................

Today, someone trained as a meteorologist, at best makes an accurate 3 day weather forecast 50% of the time. This is not to say they aren't close on more----but dead on----50% would be an excellent record.

Now we are lead to believe that these same group are able to forecast global warming and not only predict what will supposedly happen in the decades to come, but also would have to have completely accurate data from the past 200 years in order to plug into the model that supports their hypothesis.

They can't get a 3 day forecast even 60% accurate, but they know 100% that global warming is a trend......no reasonable person can accept such drivel as fact.

If you want to be frightened that it "could" happen and study things to determine better the likelihood, great. But please don't expect countries to destroy their economies on the "hunch" of global warming.

Don't sweat it---Momma Earth will be around for your Grand-kids!

I am afraid that "Day After Tomorrow" contain far more truth than fiction. We are entering a melt down of the Earth greatly hastened by our carbon foot print. If we do not change course within the next 9 years or so, it will be far too late to do anything about it...the climate will be in overdrive. AS the oceans warm, the caps will melt and water will devour most of our seaboard. Florida will all but disappear. Fort Lauderdale is already seeing the effects of Ice cap melt, the ocean is lapping over Rt 1 on windy days. When the oceans gain enough heat "fuel", the hurricanes will become greater and greater, with the ability to suck down the upper atmosphere, bringing space temperatures with it...I predict that within the next 50 years, the Earth will change dramatically, for governments are bowing to energy companies rather than put stringent plans in place. It is too late for more study groups which lead to nowhere because the are not in the interests of Exxon/Mobil. It won't effect me much, I am old. But for you younger people, your world will never be the same. I feel great sorrow for you. California has experienced very strange weather patterns this year, as has the rest of the US...it has started. I wish us all luck, but my Grandson will reap the benefits of this power mad government we have. Very sad.

globel warming can nevr be ended till we start using the renewable sources of energy limit the use of non-renewable resources.
globel warming means heating of our atmosphere due to harmful gases leading to rise in tempreature resulting in melting of icebergs.
if we wanna end globel warming then we have limit our use on pollutants such as petrol, coal etc.

Yeah, if the day after tommorrow was 10,000 years long. It'll happen something like that, minus the space storm, and it won't happen anywhere near as fast.

No. It takes at least a century or 2 before THAT happens. until then, 'fireworks' will be much less impressive.
