I recently bought a MacBook with integrated video and microphone. I tried chatting to a freind who also has the same. I have tried everything. Same message comes up: I apparently did not respond. I have changed firewall settings too. HEEEEELP PLEASE

Hello,

First we'll get the easy stuff out of the way:

* You started up an account with AOL or you have a .mac account.

* You correctly put in your user name and password inside iChat.

* You are on-line and you are seeing your friends names up on your buddy list.

* You have upgraded to the latest Tiger upgrade 10.4.7 of the Mac OS X. This has the latest update of iChat in it. You can download that here:

As far as the "not responding notice", I have seen that before. I have experimented with this with people in the same room as me and gotten the same not responding message. I would say it's a bug that is with iChat AV3. Try downloading the latest Mac OS X upgrade and see if it doesn't clear itself up.

Good luck.
