Whew! I've been hanging out in current events and feel like I need something not so heavy. I personally collect oxymorons. My favourite, from a long time ago is (and I actually heard this on a newscast): little insignificant acts of terrorism.

I think the most unusual thing I've heard someone was collecting would have to be the lady who collected the ear wax. Although it's very unsanitary and gross, it just shows you,there is no limit to the strange actions of people in this world.

I have a McDonalds placemat collection. It started when I was 17 and was traveling around Europe. I had no money so I would keep the place mats from McDonalds in different countries. If I bother going to a McDonalds when I travel I still do it.

navel lint, toe jam, fingernail clippings, dead animals, newspapers, junk mail, boxes. pretty much anything out there, someone will collect it. some woman collect sperm from their boyfriends. guys will collect thongs from girlfriends. I could go on for days.
