Depends on the age...infants you cannot spoil from giving them tons of love...if you are constantly buying things for the child with no reason except for because they want or demand it...then that would be spoiling in my book. I do not think you can ever show a child too much love unless you are invading their personal space as they get older. My boys and I are super close, I do not buy them things just because they want it, they earn what they desire. As for love, the older they get, the closer we get, and the more I love them, they are 11 & 13, and I still get kisses on the cheek in public, because they do not care what the other kids think. It's called unconditional love. You should never feel as though you are buying your child's love or spoiling them...if you do, you may be answering your own question.

that is a good question, i too have been thinking the same thing my son is 8 months old and is tending to his every need spoiling him i dont think so, i think spoiling would be if you gave them every thing they want unnecessarily. i think there is absolutely nothing wrong with giving your child a house full of love

Spoiling is giving *things*. Loving is giving *yourself*. If your child gets every toy or snack in the store whenever you go shopping, you are spoiling. If you pick up a child--of *any* age--every time he cries, you are loving.

spoiling a child is when you give in to all of the childs wants, when they are babies you take care of their needs first and then sastisfy a few wants. For example a baby wants to be held, so therefore hold when feeding or rock them to sleep. Other times try a bouncy seat, walker, playpen etc. in my opinion it is important for a child to be content playing by themselves occasionally. You can never show your child too much love but I think parents these days mistake what love is, for example we discipline our kids out of love so that they will be successful in life and not be a bother, where so parents believe that it is wrong to spank.

A spoiled child is one who has everything and has everyone do for them. Where as a loved child, gets and earns your affection, not items.

It depends on how old the child is, and what you are doing. It is immposible to spoil a child under 1 year old.

Spoiling is buying your child whatever they want and never making them earn anything or have respect for anyone.
Loving is meeting their needs and taking care of them (yes even if it does mean picking them up every time they cry! they NEED you to hold them)

Loving a kid is giving it all he needs and a little (lot) more if you can afford it.
Spoiling a kid is giving it all it wants.
