As i seem to recall there are just as many dumba*sses and jerks in America as there is in countries like the UK, Russia, and Canada! Just because America has a dumb president doesn't mean we're all stupid! In fact, when we actually put effort into it, America's youth are pretty damn smart! And why do people in the UK insist we don't know the difference between England, Great Britain, and Scotland?? Some people are so RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone? You're hanging around the wrong people. Only ignorant people do. Only snot-nosed teenyboppers who are mad at the world and have no understanding of history or America's context in it. Others include envious, sour grape sucking non Americans, and a small percentage whinny a$$ liberal adults who are indistinguishable from the previously mentioned teenyboppers. The vast majority of reasonable people know the greatness of the country that set the example for the world in how to base a government on the rights of its citizens above all else. We are the nation who went to the moon and invented most modern technology. We freed countless people from tyranny and saved the western world more than once. With a track record like that-- fools are bound to hate us.

Americans aren't stupid, but they are much more naive about the rest of the world than the rest of the world is about us. Because of the wealth and power of the United States, Americans can function with little or no knowledge about any other ways of thinking or doing things. Many actually believe there aren't any other ways of thinking or doing things, than the American way. In contrast, the rest of the world has no choice but to be aware of the "American" approach to things, because it is forced on them through the international business and entertainment world.

This naivite, or, simply, ignorance, explains why George Bush was able to convince people in the USA that 100,000 U.S. troops in Iraq, a nation of 25 million Muslims in a sea of hundreds of millions of others, most very hostile to US interests, could easily "win". The rest of the world saw this as nonsense. To Americans, all they needed to do was tell the Iraqis "the truth".

What truth? Everyone has their own perspective on things. Until Americans come to recognize this fact, they will continue to be considered ignorant and arrogant.

because we are dumb*sses. We're fat and lazy and might have a brain in there somewhere, but we don't use it that often. And we elected and reelected our president. Reelected? He was doing a god awful job and we reelected the alchoholic b*astard? Sorry but I don't know the difference between england and Great Britain, but I bet there are Brits who don't know the difference between the U.S. and Puerto Rico. as a whole, we are a dumb country. When more people vote for the American Idol than vote for the next President? but hey, we're successful, so maybe that's what the world needs. But i think the U.S has to get better in the century or risk falling behind in everything.

It really is a huge stereotype. They see the idiot leading our country and dont realize that not everyone within the United States bows down to him. It really is frustrating for me too, because I have cousins living in England, and it is crazy all of the things that they assume. Sometimes we arent the ones being ignorant... Although the president and his followers tend to be.. sadly. Great question!

Have you seen American TV? Especially reality. They can get our shows in other countries and I'm sure if they were to watch shows like the Real World and Road Rules they'd have to come to the conculsion that Americans are idiots.

Considering the most powerful figurehead of the U.S. (dubya) Was a C average imbecile who barely can complete sentences, it does not make us look great. And "we" voted him office.
