The vines have to grow really long so there will be space enough for the watermelons to grow - there's gonna be lots of space between each one since they grow so big.

As long as the vines are growing and looking good you can feel that the fruit is on it's way. You will likely see leaves first (they grow big to shade the fruit) and then flowers where the fruit will grow and then finally fruit.

The only question will be Did you plant early enough? Will there be enough warm weather for the full growth process? You will see I guess.

Peace!

Well, first of all, you have to give it more time. Yes, the vine gets real long, what you can do is rap it around a tree or a tick stick, so it can stay all together. But be patience, they will grow. When the flowers start coming out, that mean watermelons are growing.

Give them time. The vines usually are a certain length before any watermelons begin to grow. And the vines get long. How many seeds were put down and did you germinate the seeds? Those can all be factors.
