don't take it personal......for years after world war ii Germany and Germans in general were not allowed to display their colors..... yes, even in soccer games.... it wasn't until the 1990 world cup that Germany began to use uniforms with the color of their flag....

i think that it might be a little of ignorance and fear on his part.... to react that way toward you...... you should have talk to him... explain to him that you are wearing the jersey because you are proud of how well Germany played in the world cup.... he would have saw you for what you are.... a decent person...... not the killers who were responsible for the atrocities committed 60 years ago!!!!!!

People are naturally ignorant... It can be a good quality or a bad quality. Some people don't feel like looking any deeper than what they see on the outside, so all that they ever judge is first impressions and outside appearances. People can be so stubborn about being right all the time that they don't take the time to receive proper knowledge on the thing/things they are so intently focused on hating or disagreeing with. Just because something seems like it's one thing, it's probably different from another angle. You can't make excuses for ignorant people, and they won't change unless THEY decide to, or if something dramatic happens that lets them see things from a different perspective. If they are too self-centered and oblivious to see the real thing, than it's the rest of our jobs to just ignore them or stand up to it. If the ignorance is harmless and just the product of a lesser education, we should teach the right thing... For everyone sake.

I have German friends who are very proud of their heritage. They are a few of the best people I have ever met. They make jokes about it. Don't let what others think bring you down. Germans are great! I'm like 15% German.

Why do people always jump to conclusions like this? I find it sickening that people like you assume you know what someone is thinking. Did you ask him what he was thinking? Did it occur to you that maybe you just had a booger hanging out of your nose? Quit being an idiot and quit stereotyping people.

Well maybe because they don't understand.I truly know how you feel. That's why I hate going to the mall. When you are foreign, you get treated differently and people start staring, for some stupid reason.

its the lack of truth my friend. the lack of knowledge. people don't want to know what is right and wrong sometimes. they just want to be what they are and thats the problem. no one keeps an open mind.
