I'm not trying to make anyone angry, but why cant I say being gay is wong? I mean many people got together and voiced their opinion, and now gay marriage is legal where I live, why is it hate if I get together with my church and try to stop thing's like that? If you are able to voice your opinion I should be able too.

Go ahead and say what you think but don't get bent out of shape when you get slammed. 'Cause I can guarantee that your question/comments won't sit well to some folks. I'm a lesbian and I don't give a DAMN what you think of me!!!

You don't realize it but the last line of your question has part the answer you seek. You have every right to think and even say you think being gay is wrong, that is freedom. Now where you get in trouble is presuming to dictate, based on your personal religious beliefs, how another human being is allowed to live their lives and what freedoms they should have. Now please do not turn around and say something like, "well if that's the case why can't murder be legal". That kind of thinking belongs to the mentally challenged, the intellectually dishonest and the unteachable louts of the world. By all means speak your mind and say what you will, but again, remember your view should not trump another persons freedom. Another way of putting is this:

"your freedom ends where my nose begins."

Or

"be wary of what freedom you take from someone today, for tomorrow they may return the favour"

A cautionary point I hope you can appreciate.

As an addition, may I tell you that I am gay and that I myself am quite disappointed in how some of my brethren are answering you. Your question may not be something I want to hear, but I respect it enough to answer.

FIrst you have come into the gay section to post your question which leads me to belive you have no consideration to other peoples feelings, as most people in this room are fighting for same sex marriages! Why cant I have the right that if my partner becomes ill I have all power of attorney over her? If I was in a hetrosexual couple I would! If my partner dies, Her family can stop me from visiting her at the hospital, they can sell our house and take the money! We want what is only fair and right to us!
People put too much emphasis on "same sex marriage" and forget that it should be about LOVE!!! and it is possible for a man to love a man or woman love a woman as much as any man loving a woman!

Personally, I think you can say anything you want to say. Personally, I think you are going to be whacked if you say it to the wrong person...do not believe that Gays are weak, humble sissies...we are not...and in fact, I am rather militant and not above beating your *** into the ground...would that be straight enough for you? Works for me, and has worked very well in the past. So, if you intend to voice your opinions, and they are insulting, be prepared for the wrath of God to descend on you quickly, especially if I am around. And, I must add, that although there are many Chinese Gay men, they are not all named WONG. You write as well as you think. Spare me the discourse. Now, I have said what I think, you have said what you think, and we are all even. Good luck to you...let's talk again soon. Oh, and if you decide to write me email, please make sure I have an idea of what it is about...as in, identify the question you asked...so often, people like you just like to fire away with no identification of what they are talking about. And one other thing, if you decide to have a banter game with me...(I am all for banter), please have a legit email here at Yahoo...too many of you like to hit, and run...with no return email.

Why doesn't your church get together and try to force out the child molesters in your neighborhood? Why don't you try to get laws passed to have parole violators sent back to prison for good? No, you would rather hate somebody who is doing nothing to harm others and try to stop their way of life. Gosh, that doesn't sound very Christian at all. You'll say it says being gay is wrong in the Bible, but doesn't it also say judging others is a sin? And that is just what you and your church members are doing. Personally, I would rather live next door to a house full of gay people that are honest and good, then to live next door to a bunch of phonies such as yourself and your church members that hate and use God's name to hide behind it. The very reason that my husband and I teach our children that you don't have to go sit in a church to have God in your heart is because of people like you. I don't want my children exposed to any kind of hate, especially when they are supposed to be learning about God.

It's not the fact of you voicing your opinion, that's fine, because everyone has freedom of speech! But it's the way you would choose to do it, by trying to stop people from being happy! It's people like you that really make me mad, how would you like it if gay people were trying to stop heterosexuals from getting married! It's none of your business what other people do behind closed doors! It should be the happieness of other people that matter! If you don't like that fact that gay people can get married in your state, then f.ucking move!

Dear Ugly Irish Guy -

Like your Irish cousins might say "May you be in Heaven two minutes before the Devil knows you're dead" ...

Us GLBs (I don't know what the Good Book's views are about the Ts) are all off to Hell - where I intend to sit back on a sun lounger and top up my tan. Oh the agony, the sheer drama of being obliged to not have to listen to your kind, whilst I sip on a Daiquiri (Banana or Strawberry?...hmmm). The distress of having to cast my eyes around all the other fit-looking shades and beg Shaitan not to throw another baby on the big barbecue for my lunch: "Oh! I couldn't possibly eat another you horny Devil you!"

For sure, I'd much rather be upstairs spending eternity singing the praises of the Big Cahuna...

You are not wrong in your freedom of speech. It protected by the US Constituation. However you may chose your venues a little bit better. Most people in this forum will only speak out against you. Perhaps you should find a more nuetral forum area.

Also perhaps you should phrase your questions a little less angry sounding. This may result in a bit more intelligent answers and questions. If you sound angry in the questions it is more likely you will get angry answers back.

well you have a right to your own opinion, this is a free country. but saying it's "wong" well, that's wrong! LOL!! ok, I know it's a typo.
sure, you can say that, but then most clear-minded people are just going to think you're a Bible-thumping bigot. we know it's how you were raised....hating people because they are different or because you don't understand IS wrong. HATE is wrong...it's neither a family value nor is it a Christian value.
but then, like I said, this is a "free" country and you are entitled to your hateful opinion. just quit pointing your fingers at us and telling us we're wrong.

Its not just about Saying what you believe, it is about equality, being fair and loving everyone. I am a christian, one that does not discriminate against anyone, even non-believers. In the bible it says all sins are equal, I take it that would include homosexuality, because it doesnt say any diffrent. Voice your opinions, but dont get stuck on your ideas, dont believe they are better, because that makes you the lesser person.

I don't agree with the gay lifestyle either. Sure, you have the right to voice your opinion. Gay people also have the right to voice theirs. Some gay people believe there is no sin in being gay. That is their American right. I disagree. That is my American right.
