Stretch marks are a form of scars that occur in the dermis. I don't think baby oil can penetrate deeply into the dermis to help. Stretch marks are an unfortunate thing. There's no study to show what can prevent or even treat them. I myself am prone to stretch marks and I've been using Emu Oil. I know that Emu Oil is one of the only known oils to go deep into the dermis and if you do research on it, you'll find that it has other wonderful benefits too. It's expensive though!! But I guess its pricey because it's good.

Btw, Emu Oil usually has Vitamin E in it too. Mine does.

It can help but the marks will be genetic as to how much stress your skin will take and how fast it repairs itself. It also depends on how far you are in your pregnancy and if you do not grow to fast by putting on weight to quickly so your skin has enough time to catch up then you should be ok. Women who get to big to fast often have the problem with the strechmarks but use lotions with vitamin E and that should do the trick.

Nothing but good genes and very elastic skin prevents stretch marks. They are creams that help fade them. And creams/lotions/oils that help elevate the tight feeling in the skin when it's being stretched.
