I purchased a Panasonic DVD recorder and was very disappointed to find out that it doesn't work with Dish Network. I have to manually change the channel each time before it records. This is very frustrating. I know I can buy one from Dish Network, but I was wondering if there are any good ones with a hard drive which I can buy in stores.

I have a Panasonic DVR, I like it alot, that said...
You can connect it to your satelite box in the manual it tells you how.
Mine came with a small cord that I would put near the IR reciever of a cablebox or satelite box then the DVR would control it for your recording.
Most of these companies offere built in DVR's now anyways.
