Your proposition falls because prophecies were made in the Old Testament and over 600 were fulfilled, although there are many whose fulfilment is still awaited. Is that inaccuracy simply because the books were written by fallible men? No, because the words were inspired by God, and he does not make mistakes. The whole Old Testament points one way - to Jesus Christ. The prophecies about the exact nature of His birth and His name were made 800 years before it happened and they were absolutely accurate. Certainly some were in error because of man's fallibility. The great prophet, Jeremiah, got half of one of his right and the other wrong, because he'd misread what God was telling him. As far as different versions are concerned, some were translated from Hebrew and some from Greek, and the Vulgate from Latin. You cannot translate exact meanings from one language to another as idioms in each language exist. You can only translate the meaning, and this means that ways have to be found of expressing it, but no two people will do it in exactly the same way. The focus of the Bible is on the Holy Trinity - God, Christ and the Holy Spirit, and the main Christian churches are Trinitarian. Jehovah's Witnesses are non-Trinitarians, despite the fact that in Matt. 12.32 Christ says that you need not believe in Him and will be forgiven for it, but not believing in the Holy Spirit is the unforgivable sin. So according to Christ, JWs cannot go to Heaven because they do not believe in the Holy Trinity. As far I am concerned, I would not dare to argue with Him. You can't pick and choose which part of the Godhead you wish to believe in - it is the Holy Trinity and Heaven, or rejection and Hell, and that applies to us all whilst we are alive.
