In the paper, in the classified section, there are some ads that have REAL cheap houses, and the number below the ad says "call for a list"... that is to say, you have to pay for the list.

Has anyone ever done this? Is it a rip off? Is it worth it? If I really could find a cheap house that had been repossessed, I'd be willing to pay 125 for the list, but I just wanted to be sure it's for real.

I wouldn't pay for it! Call a real estate agent who would be happy to pull the listings for your for FREE. There are also websites you can access, but a REALTOR will have the most up to date information, as well as the insight to help you in your search. Good luck.

Pay for a Land Registry seek for and which will inform you who the identify absolute is with and the present mortgagees in possession. Then in basic terms write to the mortgagees and ask them for suggestion on the prospect of shopping for. keep in mind that the domicile continues to be the valuables of the repossessed proprietor ( to that end the previous landlord ) till it really is bought so he always has the right to sparkling the debt at any time and absolve his indebtedness with the lender. Repossessed houses have a tendency to bypass on the open marketplace by skill of brokers till they're unmortgagable and favor the free bidding of an public sale to flow it on. What you're providing will not be elementary yet I in basic terms advise that you commence with the mortgagee in possession and take it from there. also keep in mind that mortgagees in possession have a elementary regulation favor to receive the superb plausible value!

RIP OFF!

your best bet is to contact a local realtor that you'd be comfortable working with. they have access to these listings, and can alert you when new ones come on the market. plus, as a buyer, it costs you nothing to use the services of a realtor!

You don't have to pay for a list of foreclosed homes. All you need to do is go to your local county clerk or courthouse for the same information. Simple!
