Describes the experience of feeling that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously. The term was created by a French psychic researcher, Ãmile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques (The Future of Psychic Sciences), which expanded upon an essay he wrote while an undergraduate French concentrator at the University of Chicago. The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eerieness," "strangeness," or "weirdness." The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past.

ok, i hate to ask this, but you just described de ja vu so why are you asking this question? it's the sense of being or doing something that you think you've done before. yes, lot's of people have de ja vu and i do believe that it is a past live just repeating itself. if may not mean that you are trying to correct a mistake, it may just be to make a believer out of you.

Deja vu is French for "Again seen" and is a phenomena which occurs in many people. For some people with memory problems, they actually did happen before. Other times, it's unclear. Personally I believe time isn't linear, and the mind and body knows that, so deja vu is just the body's way of saying "I knew this was going to happen."

It is when you go somewhere or do something and you get that feeling you have been their before or you have done it before.
Some people seem to think it may have been from a past life and some seem to think as we plan our lives before we are born it is just a sign that we are on the right path.
A conformation or a Karma pay back be it good or bad
I would say that most people do experience it often that is why you here so many people say it.
Love & Blessings

Dèja vu is the sense that one has previously seen or experienced what is transpiring for the first time; it is a false impression that the current stream of consciousness has previously been recorded in memory. Related phenomena are dèja entendu, a sense that one has previously heard what is actually being heard for the first time, and dèja pensé, a feeling that one has at an earlier time known or understood what is being thought for the first time. Experiences of jamais vu, jamais entendu, and jamais pensé involve feelings that one has never seen, heard, or thought (respectively) things that in fact one has. These phenomena are all common in everyday life but may increase in states of fatigue or intoxication and in association with complex partial seizures or other psychopathological states, as in schizophrenia.
