American Girl Place right off Michigan Ave.--you can have lunch and even see a play
Lincoln Park Zoo--it's free (except for the parking)
If she likes baseball go to Wrigley Field--but stay out of the bleachers (that's where all the rowdy drunk people are)
Museum of Science and Industry
Shedd Aquarium
Field Museum has a cool King Tut display right now

Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium, Filed Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, Wrigley Field or US Cellular field. The Handcock observatory. Horse carriage ride down Lake Shore Drive.
I have added a link to just about any thing you can think of with reviews in Chicago. Have fun.

Here are some ideas: Lincoln Park Zoo, Brookfield Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, Museum of Science & Industry (has stuff for kids too), and Buckingham Fountain is lighted at night so that might be cool to see. Other than that, the Sears Tower is always great to check out. Hope that helps.

See the fireworks at NAVY PIER.
Take a boat tour, did you know there are more than 200 airplanes at the bottom of Lake Michigan around Navy Pier (at one time Navy Pier was a military flight training runway).

Wrigley Field, a classic basebal statium.
The Heard Museum and the Alder Planetarium are both excellent.
