Hell no, Pee-Wee's Playhouse (and the movie Pee-Wee's Big Adventure) is pure comedy genius. I can't believe the network actually aired it, it was ahead of its time in dozens of ways. The character Pee-Wee Herman always has me laughing. The bit with the scotch tape? Lord save us, that's funny stuff.
Paul Reubens (the guy who plays Pee-Wee) is a good actor in general. He's been in tons of stuff. But Pee-Wee's his own invention, and truly a great one.
