The hip hop movement that started in New York was really started in Jamaica by a jamaican DJ Kool Herc. Hip hop was created out of jamaican music raggamuffin and dub. And another thing is this reggaeton stuff. The music infleuences in reggaeton are mostly jamaican influences. I know there are latin infleuences in reggaeton like plena, bomba and stuff but some of those music are derieved from african music and jamaican music music is derived from african music. So really Africa needs to get the credict for hip hop here. But i say Jamaica cuz thats what most people know more about.

Some people are very shallow, esp. when it comes to music. They hear all the gangsta and materialistic music being produced right now and that is all they care about. I took a class in college called the History of Rock and Roll and learned that rap and hip-hop were derived from Jamaica. I had access to resources such as the class, but some people just don't care to take the time to learn about their roots. Their all too busy tryin to be wanna-be's!

You need to expand your horizons. Most people worry about important stuff like blaming Bush for their troubles, letting him take over the world because he is too stupid or too smart.

What about Dick Cheney?

What about all the Korans being defiled in Cuba.

Is Pepsi Free really free?

And I still say that Hip Hop is not music.

Well you would have to take it all the way back to Ska. That's WAY back.
