Do you think Israel has overreacted to the kidnapping of their soldiers by bombing Lebanon, and further attacking the Palestinians? It seems like this could lead to a major escalation of the Middle East war, and since it seems like we always support Israel (even when maybe we shouldn't), this could make Arab states hate us more, no?
What do you think?

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying Israel should not have acted, but I am asking if perhaps they have overreacted, since we may be drawn into this conflict as well.

Israel feels that by frighting people through its military strength will guarantee its safety. There are other ways to deal with the problems but require patience.

Israel did not start this at all. They left Gaza, and Muslims came in, attack and killed and kidnapped their guys. They left Lebanon in 2000, and Muslims came in, killed and kidnapped their guys. You figure it out. If it is ok to kidnap and kill their guys, then it will continue on forever. If you think that their lives are not worth war, then you are wrong. Every Israeli has to join the army at some point in their lives. They let Muslims get away with this and their whole country is at even more risk.
When Iran takes those soldiers it will get worse, alot worse. Perhaps this is the time when the world will have to fight it out once and for all with Muslims.

there's a biblical subject with extremely-conservative, Christian fundies, yet imperialism has not at all been hindered via this or any Christian faith. i've got not got that a lot of a concern giving money to Israel over the different u . s . the place oppression exists. We do it all the time, and various of those worldwide places do no longer even like us. a minimum of Israel, on its face, likes us. I propose, i'm getting it. there's a substantial concern between Israelis and Palestinians, yet why is there not at all relatively the comparable outcry for different oppressed human beings worldwide? Why do we not at all stop investment worldwide places who've abysmal information while it includes a brilliant phase of their populations: women. Why did we intrude in Bosnia, yet no longer Afghanistan pre 9/11. We knew what became into taking place to women, yet no person did something, or perhaps reported on it. the way I see, we continuously help ********, until eventually it comes around to chunk us in the ***. Can all people say Saddam Hussein, El Salvador militia, Hafez al-Assad....

no they are not overreacting!
the borders of Israel , have been violated by rocket fire ,for some time, now causing death ,injury and damage ,
also they have kidnapped some of the Israel defence soldiers and there record for blackmail and brutality to their prisoners , is well known !
so Israel fights back ,
They do not give in to blackmail and will rout, the terrorists as ,and when they can
surrounded as it is with hostile Muslim country's , Israel must protect their citizens and their country.
America is mandated ,to stamp out terrorism as is the British Government,
and i respect them for the sacrifice, involved in this action, In whatever way they see fit.
I want to see the terrorists vanquished and for peace to break out in the World
Meanwhile we have to fight towards this end

They've been overreacting for years. I think that anyone who has gone through being isolated in concentration camps and gone through the Holocaust should be especially opposed to building walls around a people to contain them, and the wholesale killing of a people because someone who hurt some of their people was of that "inferior" nationality.

Overreacting? They should wipe Lebanon and that made up state off the map unless their troops are returned.
I know, this is George Bush's fault also?

They are not reacting. If some whacked out, rogue nation kidnapped one of our troops, I would EXPECT and DEMAND that our military unleash brutal and lethal force to free our troops from kidnappers. Stop bitting your pillow, dude...
