I have some old serious Swiss Francs but they are out of service so the banks here won't cash them in. What can I do?

The former currencies of nations who entered the euro may still be exchanged at the European Central Bank, or possibly the national banks of the countries concerned. They are not legal tender, though some eurozone countries still display prices in their former currencies, presumably so die-hards can mentally compare the old and new values. EDIT - French Central Bank will exchange Franc banknotes until 17/2/2012 check their website

Try and find some money collectors. There are hobbyists that collect foreign currency. A quick look turned up the below link. Not saying they are the ones to deal with, but to give you an idea of a place willing to buy your currency.
