Barcelona spent around 5 years in the wilderness(1999) before winning again last year.

Real Madrid are in rebuilding mode, it may come good next year, but Barcelona remain the team to beat for another season.

But even in those years that Barcelona failed to win, Real Madrid didn't have all their own way, Valencia popped up twice to win, so don't expect things to be as easy as they were over the past 2 seasons.

But I think Barcelona will hold out for another year in Spain but fail to defend the European Crown.

Gotta disagree with you here mate.
Barca are still the team to beat in Spain.
And to the person who said Ronaldinho was not the same player as before, Well that's simply because Brazil choose to play him in the wrong position, Once he's back with Barca in his prefered position then he'll be back to his best,
Also Barca will look to have a full Season out of Lionel Messi, so you can live in hope but, It's BARCA again for me.

No - Barca is still the team to beat in Spain, they have great players and Real Madrid will have to go shopping for players, they have a new coach Cappello - he's good but i think he's going to need 1 or 2 years to rebuild a new team considering that Zidane + Figo are gone, so i think we are in for an interesting league in Spain.

If Real Madrid can buy the likes of Cannavaro,Zambrotta,Emerson and maybe Kaka even, then i think Barca might not win it. Now that Capello is the coach of Real, the coming season, unlike the previous two, will be more competitive hopefully!

I absolutely agree. I think it's high time that the rojiblancos win it for a change. Yeah, I'm an Atleti fan.
