I know you can boot from a floppy disk, but I don't have one on my computer.

Yes, windows can boot from any bootable cd. This includes windows disks that are bootable or any other type of operating system disk or utility disk.

You can boot off of a cd with a copy of Linux on it.

You can also boot from a cd that resembles windows that you can make yourself with Bart's preinstalled environment. On this disk you can include virus scan software as well as spyware scan software. This is one of the best ways to get rid of viruses and spyware since you can scan and remove any file on your hard disk and spyware isn't loaded at bootup since you are not booting from your hard disk.

Yes. Norton has a system boot disk for virus scans and such. Plus, you can check at www.bootdisk.com for boot disks and programs for a variety of OS

yes, just put in the cd-rom restart it might take a couple of time to take it.
