My boyfreind and I are 2 differant religions. He is jehovah witness and I am baptist. Neither of us really follow these or go to church or meetings but we were raised that way. I think it is ok for our kids to know the differance and celebrate and respect each b/c I believe it would make them more understanding and help them to not to judge people. I think we can respect his beliefs in our house but that it is ok for them to celebrate christmas at my parents and for us to buy them bday presents and have a cake but no party. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Good for you! You will be teaching tolerance. My Mom was very catholic and my Dad was Russian Orthodox. We went to both when we wanted to. I am now Wiccan, my brother is Episcopal and my sister doesn't believe. My mom is now born again. If they are raised to respect and value others differences you have done the right thing.

Well Ms.Jessica no it is not wrong 2 let your kids know about 2 other differant religions because i am a Jehovah witness myself and i understand what you are saying but at the same time let your children go to both 2 the Jehovah witness side and as well as the baptist and let them see what they like best and it would Be respectful if you let them see how it is not to celebrate but yet let them experience your side as well this would be and experience for you and for him.

I thinks that's wonderful of what you and your b/f is doing- sometimes couples bicker over what religion if different to teach their child/children-this is a much better approach I really like the idea

That's my situation, too. I think it would be wise to expose your kids to both religions (or more than that, if you really want them to be open minded) so that they can be able to make their own decisions when they are at the right age.

I don’t think it’s wrong. They will choose for themselves once they get older.

Clearly, pleasing God is unimportant to both of you. For the sake of the children, please reconcile yourselves to God first.
