This was a tough question. I agree with everyone else that the movie shouldn't be remade; however, I came up with a list of those I think would do a good job of playing the different roles.
Andy Clark (Emilio Estevez) - Chris Evans
John Bender (Judd Nelson) - Garrett Hedlund
Claire Standish (Molly Ringwald) - Michelle Trachtenberg
Brian Johnson (Anthony Michael Hall) - Justin Long
Allison Reynolds (Ally Sheedy) - Alexis Bledel
Richard Vernon (Paul Gleeson) - Tom Selleck
Those are just some ideas to throw out. Again, good question.

That'd be sweet to make a old school movie. You'd have to put new characters-but based on the original typecasts. There would be the jock, the cheerleader, the slut, the bully, the nerd, and we'll add the hot foriegn exchange student and since its the modern version the pregnant chick. It would be Breakfast club/dazed and confused/summer school/fast times at ridgemount high sort of modern upbeat movie enjoyed by kids of all ages lol.
