Despite the complex historical background, I have to say it makes absolutely no sense to me. The most common line is the "powerful" (financially, rather than numerically) Jewish lobby in the US, but I find this rather hard to believe - there are plenty of ridiculously rich Arabs who are pretty to pump money into US election campaign coffers.

What I find even more surprising is that US voters repeatedly vote for people who throw billions of their money into Israeli military coffers...
