no cause if he was using steroids then its really not fare to all the other home run kings from years past who wouldn't cheat to get a record! and I think Bonds should have from the time he took steroids to the time he stoped all homers should be erased so its a fare game.

Well I personally think he used steroids and think he is a piece of garbage but technichally he has ever tested positive so there is nothing that really can be done. If he does break Aarons record then I dont think many people will be happy about it and it will go down as one of the biggest controversies in baseball history sine Pete Rose not getting into the hall of fame. Im nit sure if hes got enough left to stick it out for another year though.

Did I miss something, or exactly when did Barry Bonds test positive for steroids? To my knowledge, he never has tested positive.
Besides, Ruth doesn't hold the record; Aaron does. Has since 1974.

Barry Bonds earned what recognition he has acquired thru 2006...home riun records, etc., etc., and the NEGATIVE notoriety he has earned as well.
What is lost...in all of this, is the absolute FACT that Henry Aaron is the ALL-TIME greatest home-run hitter! No steroids...etc., etc.,
Mark Mcguire received initial recognition from his exploits in breaking Babe Ruth's record...but, WHAT DO FANS THINK OF HIS EXPLOITS TODAY??? Not much!
Barry Bond's "records" will undergoe the SAME TESTS OF TIME...and HISTORY WILL BE THE JUDGE!

Barry Bonds is the HR chief for occupation and season, yet faux followers, bandwagoners and jealous followers that favor their gamers were the HR chief believe that different those that Barry handed up are nevertheless holders of those files. everybody, it type of feels, used some type of PED of their occupation, and those faux followers and bandwagoners do not imagine that even the most imprecise specialist baseball participant that had serious extremity injuries HAS used steroids as prescribed with the help of a dr., because that's the traditional procedure remedy alongside with ice, warmth and discomfort killers. Are those injured gamers that had steroids of their equipment "cheaters" too, in the experience that they used an same substance that Barry used? go away the discussions of PED use to the real baseball followers that genuinely experienced worse controversies and themes with the game even earlier gamers delivered PED's into the open. also, no individual in baseball's previous is an "angel" or extra of a "acceptable" function sort because Ty Cobb (racism), Henry Aaron (amphetamines), Orlando Cepeda (marijuana trafficking), Mickey Mantle (alcoholism ensuing in his lack of life) and George Herman Ruth (alcoholism, womanizing and eating complications), and different HOF'ers have had those serious vices influence their lives too.

No one cares about Ruth's record anymore(I read that they catalogued all his hits and by todays rules/stadium standards he would have over 1,000 HR's) since his legacy will never be touched. However, it would be a shame if Bonds passes Hank Aaron, who is one of the most important names in the games and stands for everything good about baseball. Hopefully Bonds won't pass Aaron and we can put off this asterisk thing a bit longer.

people,people people please ,
i'm no barry bond's fan . but come on do you honestly think that he is the only person to cheat. cheating has been around as long as the game has. 1/2 of the hall of fame admits to being cheaters to get a head and the other half don't have the balls to. i dont care what those sports writers say Barry,Mark,Sammy,Rafiel.and all the others may have taken performancing enhancing drugs but it is still HAND TO EYE CORDINATION and that can't be taught. and that is what makes Barry Bonds one of the 5 greatest player of all time.

If the winner of the Indy 500 was found to have an illegal engine
in their car, but everyone else played by the rules, would that
be acceptable? Why should Bonds be any different?
How about Olympic competitors have had their medals & records
taken away because of drug use?
Let him keep the record, but in big bold letters add, WHILE USING
ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES.

He might not have used steroids all of his career but he used it for a greater part of it, so I say take away any homeruns from 1998 to present. Look at him he started ot skinny and now he is all muscled up, that is not natural, look at Tony Gwynn, he didnt get a lot of muscle he just gained weigh. (T. Gwynn is the best, im a SD fan what can i say)

If they get rid of his, they'd better get rid of mark mcguire's too.
Don't forget rapheal palmeiro's and Jason Giambi.
they cheated as well, Giambi even admitted it. But that doesn't console the fact that he cheated. palmeiro got caught. and Mcguire left the league and still refuses to admit what is already known (just like Bonds).
It only seems more important to get bonds cuz he's breaking all sorts of records at the moment.
