Of course it does. I made the mistake of falling into the worldly trap of believing that not being a virgin was more important than virginity. I wish I could have shared that with my wife and that we are the only people we have ever been that intimate with. In those who wait there is an intimacy and a deep commitment that can't be shaken. So I'd recommend waiting until marriage - because I'd like to experience the positives that it brings, but am unable to. The biggest reasons is because when you give up your virginity prior to marriage, you do two things: 1) you trivialize sex so that it becomes just something to do instead of the intimate gift that celebrates two people committed for life in marriage; and 2) why settle for good when you can have great?

I think what really matters is that people are only with others that they really care about. Don't just have sex to have it, and always be careful about pregnancy, disease, etc. But the old notion that a woman has to be a virgin doesn't seem to make sense. A man who is secure will not care if you have had other relationships - he may have had them too.

Nope.

mine or the person with whom i'm involved?
mine mattered back when i had it... now it's gone and i'm not going to mourn the loss. hopefully, it matters to the person that i'm seeing as well. what they want to do with it is their business, i guess.
