They often fall out, but I have found one by Sony that is very good. I'd like to try others, but I can't figure out how to test them without purchasing them first (with no refunds of course). What can I do?

The reason I'm asking is because the ones I'm using now are good, but there may be something better out there.

Surely you don't need to ask the people of Y! Answers this! Your earphones won't fit your ears for one of two reasons: either your ears are unusually big, or they are unusually small.
I would just stick with your Sony earphones. You've only got two ears...you can only shove one pair of earphones in there at a time unless your ears are a lot bigger than you're implying with the fact that at least one brand of earphones fit.

Hello, If you have trouble with ill fitting headphones and still want the ear bud style I would recommend Future Sonics. They are designed with a soft ear plug style thing that you roll between your fingers to make it small then insert it in your ear and it will swell up to fit your ear canal. It is very comfortable and shields you from outside noise. They are around $100 but one of the best choices and very great sound reproduction.
Good luck.

Why don't they fit? Are you Vulcan or something?
Try this.....measure the size of the ear piece of the SONY one that fits you. Compare the readings to others in the store before purchase.

The easiest thing to do would be to simply use the Sony earphones with whatever you have. The earphones should be compatible with all kinds of music players, cellphones, etc.

I just saw C|Net's video review of the Shure earbud headphones and one of the things that the showed was that Shure has a variety of earpieces that are of different types to try to fit any kind of ear.

They are expensive. But they seem like they will fit any ear type.
The other alternative is to not go earbud but instead go "old school" with over the ear types of head phones which don't slip out as easily.
Maybe something similar to these Logitech headphones.

I use something similar at work and they don't slip off.

Can you please tell me what kind of Sony earphones you found, so I can buy them as well? (mine are always falling out my ears too!) I used to think it was just me and my sister that had this problem, but now I know there are more of us!
(and to those above - No, we do not have big ears...it is the way our ear canal is shaped...grow up please!)
Note to asker: Thank-you! I will have to try them! :-)

Yeah that does suck. Happens all the time because the makes or the headphones must think that every one in the world has the same sized ears!!

that is a damn soreness and that i understand precisely what you propose. Headphones purely keep falling out of my ears. many of the better-high quality, extra expensive headphones comprise distinct sized interchangable rubber padding for distinct length ears. i stumble on ones with rubber 'grip' surrounds stay in extra perfect. Plastic ones fall out. See if this facilitates.

Try the Sony EX51SL/EX51LP earbuds. They go in your ears so they double as noice-cancelation earbuds as well. Buy them from Best Buy or Circuit City and return them whether you like them or not. If you do, buy them from Amazon (cheaper).
