Red meats. If you don't eat red meats, there's also a good amount in tuna. There's also a lot in broccoli if you can stand it (I hate broccoli).
Here's a website I reccomended to my friend a couple months ago when she was suffering from an iron deficiency and didn't want to take supplements. http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/iron.asp It gives you all the foods containing iron, the serving size and the daily value of iron contained in it. It also gives great explanations of what iron does, how it's absorbed, reccomended intake and more!
If you do end up taking iron supplements, always take them with some heavy foods like breads and meats. It will help you absorb it more efficiently and won't give you an upset stomache.

I am anemic so I'm up on this stuff! Leafy green veggies (broccoli, spinich, greens, etc), liver, bran, and lean red meat are good sources of iron. Vitamin C aids in the absorption of iron, so drinking orange juice would be good. You want to avoid dairy products an hour before and an hour after eating iron rich foods because that inhibits iron absorption. Good luck!

A couple tablespoons of Blackstrap molasses, with an Orange juice chaser. Iron needs vitamin C to be absorbed properly.

Spinach is rich in iron, try it cooked or uncooked as a substitute for lettuce. Other leafy greens like turnip greens, beet greens are also. For meat eaters, livers from cows, deer, rabbit are also, but I don't eat meat. Molasses, is also another item rich in iron. However, you can also get iron from water, none processed foods such as beans, and lentils. Not as much but still they have iron in them.

My water!
No kidding - the water in our well is so full of iron that is it makes everything orange in a day!!
My kids said that when they took the shower (before we added the filtration unit) that it smelled like blood! It did. GROSS
But anyway - I don't think that you want to drink my water. But it sure is a good source of iron ;)

Believe it or not you can actually acquire more iron from a bottle of Blackstrap Molasses then liver (dont know how many ounces), however they are about the same on the tastebuds :)

i have the same problem, I am iron deficient. My Doctor says fresh foods, less processed is better place to find more Iron.
