While the liberals are actually trying to answer the question, the neo-con(victs) are again up with personal attacks on the asker. We can come back with personal attacks as well. It takes a good bit of self control to not hit back the neo-cons.
To answer the question, no I don't believe. Go to http://www.newamericancentury.org and you will find out the real real reason behind the wars. The very opening sentence says it, because the people currently in power believe that "American (neocon) leadership is good for both America and the world". It is not surprising anymore how the people in the administration define words the way it suits them. Jingoism for patriotism, anti-choice for pro-life, ignorance for religious belief, bigotry for family values and so on.
And to answer therandman, do you read newspapers, watch tv channels etc.. or do you listen to your rectal sounds only? The entire world has condemned Guantanamo. The UN was denied inspection of the facility and the Red Cross has never been there either. There have been multiple accusations against Guantanamo. Why do you think the government said they will NOW AND HENCEFORTH follow the Geneva convention? Thus admitting that it was NOT following those conventions. What the **** are you talking about? Ignorant repuglicunt christian moron.

Dorie: "who among you actually believes that any part of the current American wars has anything to do with freedom?"
Me: "I do. Ours. We will not be converted, killed, or enslaved."
Dorie: Are you awar of the Patriot act? "
Me: "Yes, Thank goodness!"
Dorie: "Are you aware how many people have been imprisoned after 9/11 and their families still can't find them?"
Me: "Then they shouldn't be out attacking our troops or the Iraqi troops. Period. OR they should wear a uniform, use the Geneva Conventions, and then they will deserve to have the Geneva Conventions applied. Instead they kill civilians, torture people, and hide behind children. Cowards."
Dorie: Are you of what has been going on for years in Guantanamo bay? Two men committed suicide and it was laughed off as a political statement. They had to be pretty desparate to make their staement so final!
Me: We get blamed because we won't allow them to kill themselves through starvation. They kill themselves and we get blamed for that. Sorry, doesn't sell. You can't have it both ways, and by trying to, all you tell us is that you'll attack us either way. We don't play that game! Let them kill themselves. Better than them killing us."
Dorie: "Are you aware that if there was no oil to be had in Iraq, this administration would have no need to spread "Democracy" in a country that hates the US?"
Me: "Actually, it was the oil in Kuwait. Saddam tried to invade, Kuwait asked us to help, we did, Saddam attacked us, we attacked back. After a decade of cease-fire which he constantly broke, we got fed up and tracked him to his hole, literally, while his generals bragged to the troops about how the U.S. was being slaughtered. These are the liars you support?"
Dorie: "So how do you think our young people are dying for freedom? They, along with the hundreds of thousands of Arabs/Muslims are dying in order to make Bush and his cronies even richer."
Me: "This is just a lie. you have no proof that President Bush has made a dime, but you spread this lie without batting an eyelash. THAT'S sedition. WE believe in innocent until proven guilty. YOU believe in guilty until proven innocent. I think we see who you are.
You side with our enemies.
You undermine our values
You condemn our country
You lie about our President
You are the enemy. Or as you put it:
Dorie: "Who cannot see that?"

I've never once thought that the Iraq War was about bringing freedom and democracy to the Iraqis! By the way, have you ever noticed that the people who keep saying that we're over there to bring freedom to the Iraqis also seem to forget the fact that it was Osama bin Laden, not Saddam Hussein, who was responsible for the 9/11 attacks?

Only the foolish think this war is about freedom. How can we fight for freedom if it was never threatened? Was Saddam going to come over here and take away my freedom? NO! Don't be fooled this war is about wealth. But not necessarily oil wealth. We THOUGHT Bush was going over their to steel Iraqi oil..but the truth is Cheney and Bush are more than happy to profit from the American Tax Payer. Why try to dominate Iraqi oil when you get a blank check of 8 BILLION per month directly from us tax payers to distribute to your buddies in the form of no bid Iraqi reconstruction contracts? So yea..Iraq=keys to the vault for the Bush admin. Those who believe we are fighting for our freedom against thoughs who were never going to take it represent the problem with America today. The dumbing down of America. Stupid citizens are easily manipulated and elect stupid leaders..Bush.

Are you asking Americans, Afghans, or Iraqis? Currently nothing in the Patriot Act directly affects me. But then again I don't have any ties to muslims, terrorist or any such faction.
Gitmo is the finest run prison facility in the world! International Human rights groups & the Red Cross don't have any problems with the treatment of enemy combatants. Only whinning Liberals seem to have a problem with Gitmo because Dubya created it. 2 suicides, that's it? You would proably commit suicide if I completely changed your lifestyle in 1 week by confining you. They should have thought about the reprecusions of battle when they joined the terrorist. But that's the problem and terrorist don't think - they only follow.
There was no oil in Ruwanda but we went there.
There was no oil in Serbia & Kosvo but we went there.
There was no oil in Panama but we went there.
There are many places we are where no oil can be found.
I think you are a child just parroting the crap you hear from Maher, Stewart, Franken, and Moore. Educate & think for yourself

Some of us (Americans) still believe in things like freedom and liberty. Whether we agree with the war we are involved in at the moment is beside the point. There are ulterior motives behind our government's decisions for being involved in every war America has ever been involved in but we are still known as the greatest country in the world because we are willing to fight for our (and anyone else's) freedom. I guess my point is this: We must stand for something, even if it's not the end result and maintain our beliefs.
By the way, why must you and others like you ask your question in such a condescending manner? Just because we disagree on politics does not give you the right to insult or offend people.
